It's been a big year; you've earned this
All those interval sessions, riverside jogs and Sunday long runs have been hard work. You've put in a heroic shift this last year.
So this December, we're throwing a Christmas celebration the best we know how. Good company, good drinks, and a live band that'll make even the most reluctant runners move their feet.
The live entertainment for the evening? That'll be Snax.band, a lively South London function band who show up at the club for gigs, runs...or, honestly, any excuse for a pint. They specialise in their own tasty arrangements of well-known tunes, sprinkled with enough saxophone to make Santa himself shimmy.
They've played their annual, rip-roaring Christmas gig with us every December for the last few years. This year, they've assured us they're upping their sax-powered festive game to truly unreasonable levels.
If you've heard them before, you already know the kind of joyful chaos they bring. And if you haven't? Well, you're in for a treat!
We can assure you: good times are abound.
What to expect
And hey. Dancing counts as cross-training, right? You just have to get into it enough.
So, expect a night of festive celebrations packed with:
Live music with extra seasoning. Upbeat covers, Christmas sparkles and dance floor-fillers.
A bar stocked with the usual London City Runners staples. 🍻
A proper LCR atmosphere. Warm, welcoming and slightly chaotic in the best way.
Christmas carols played by a full horn section. 🎺
Possibly a conga line (we can't rule it out).

A friend showed me Sprunki the other day and I got completely hooked on the music mixing aspect. You drag characters around and they each add a different sound layer. Pretty creative concept and surprisingly relaxing once you get into it.
Wacky Flip turns simple jumping into an aerial puzzle. You launch forward and spin through the air. The challenge is aligning your body before touching the ground. A correct angle leads to a stable landing. A wrong one sends you crashing hilariously. Practice helps you master the rhythm of flipping

It recognizes the hard work runners have put in through countless training sessions and transforms that effort into a festive reward—bringing people together with great company, drinks, GeoGuessr and high-energy live music. With Snax band returning once again, promising even bigger, sax-fuelled festive fun, the evening is set to be lively, inclusive, and joyfully chaotic.
